WWE ring announcer Howard Finkel, 69, dies

Howard Finkel, the legendary WWE ring announcer, has died at the age of 69, according to the organisation.

The entertainment company shared the sad news on Twitter on Thursday. They did not reveal the cause of death.

According to CNN Howard, who was known as 'The Fink' made his debut at Madison Square Garden in 1977. He went on to become the company's longest-serving employee, and in 2009 he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

In a statement on their website, the WWE said: "When considering the greatest ring announcers in the history of sports and sports entertainment, you'd be hard-pressed to name one better than Howard Finkel."
