Survivor SA: What's going to happen next?

2014-04-04 20:00
Johannesburg - Last week's turbulent tribal council is now throwing the cat amongst the pigeons. And the cat has a name: it is Shane. The show's master manipulator and villain has to find a way not to follow compatriot Marian, who was voted off at tribal, onto the jury.

But before he can execute his new plan, he first has a bone to pick with flip-flopper David. Will Shane be able to talk the others into another blindside or will he have to play the Hidden Immunity Idol he told the others he had lost?

Winning the Immunity Necklace is the only way to remain safe from the votes at tribal council. This week's challenge, though, has a snag that will drive the Survivors nuts. It is designed to expose alliances, while the winner also has to choose between a mystery box to be revealed later, and an immediate reward, which might up their chances to stay in the game for longer.

This week marks David's tenth visit to tribal council – an all-time record in terms of this stage of Survivor SA. He knows that his fellow tribe mates are using him as a pawn and that Lady Luck has saved him more than once. But how long will the rest of the castaways be able to deal with his antics?

The Survivors have also come to realise that they have to take the Salvation Cup into consideration when deciding how to cast their votes. Captains Mark Fish and Corne Krige fight for this cup at a challenge in each episode and the winner has the right to nullify one vote at tribal council.

Survivor South Africa: Champions is broadcast on M-Net on Sundays at 17:30. For DStv Compact viewers, there's a repeat on Saturdays on M-Net Series Zone at 13:00. For the latest updates on the show, join the official Survivor Facebook page – Survivor SA.
