  • Bridget Marshall's heart was left broken at the final rose ceremony of The Bachelor SA season 2 when Marc Buckner chose Marisia van Wyk.
  • The 31-year-old said that since it happened, she did cry a lot but has had time to heal and move on.
  • During an interview in the final episode she said: "I’m in a good place and I’m happy and I’m happy for them and I love both of them."

Bridget Marshall's journey on The Bachelor SA came to a sad ending when Marc Buckner chose Marisia van Wyk.

The lifestyle manager's relationship with Marc blossomed from friendship into more over the two months on the show.

Last week the 31-year-old relived those last moments with Marc during the airing of the finale.

Bridget says watching those moments were very emotional.

"It brought back a lot of feelings. It was almost as if I was right back there in that moment, where he uttered that one little word, 'but...'"

Going into that final rose ceremony, she says she thought that they had a solid, stable connection but at the end of the day he just wasn't her person, he was Marisia's.

It suddenly stopped. All the butterflies, fireworks, my heart and my words froze. I didn’t know what to say... How do you put into words how your feeling when everything just comes to a grinding halt This was one of the toughest moments for me... Reliving this was heartbreaking all over again and I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to watch it. Over the last few weeks I have relived every emotion and every feeling and it hasn’t been easy. This entire journey has taught me so much and I am so proud of myself for taking this chance and staying true to who I am. It took a lot of courage and strength to put my heart on the line and risk it all for the chance to have it all. The most important lesson I have learnt is that at the end of the day I am only human. We all are, we all make mistakes, we are born to be real not perfect. It is completely ok to be vulnerable and feel all the emotions that life gives us. The happy, sad, anger, fear, regret, love and loss. It makes us who we are. . Lastly I would like to say a huge thank you to each and every person that has supported me and shown me so much love. It means the world to me?? I am hurt but I will heal. I let myself fall and I’m getting back up again. I like to think that some hearts are just too big to break. My Prince Charming is out there somewhere and I still believe in that breathtaking, passionate, fairytale love @thebachelor_sa @mnettv @lottostar_official @jackfriedman1933 #thebachelorsa #mnet #lovelost #mnet #heartsore

When asked about his reasons for not choosing Bridget, Marc said during the episode that a big part of the time they spent in the fantasy suite was used to talk about other things and he just wanted to focus on them. His fear was that his relationship mostly involved talking about other people.

About his explanation, Bridget says she didn't agree with it.

"I felt that he didn't want to be honest with me as to not hurt me. Sometimes it's just better, to tell the truth. It's like ripping a band-aid off."

When asked whether she thinks she spent a lot of her one-on-one time with Marc talking about the other ladies she says: "When you are seeing someone you tell them everything, the good, the bad, the whole lot. I was only being honest with Marc about how I was feeling and what was going on while he wasn't around."

During her time in the mansion Bridget was involved in a lot of the drama in the house, first with Greta, then with Nolo and then the big fallout with Pasha at the dinner party.

Looking back at all the drama now she says she stayed real and true to herself.

"I am quite an outgoing, bubbly girl, and I say it how it is. I had never been in a situation where 22 of us were after the same man. All the women were phenomenal, so it's only natural to feel a bit intimidated."

Although her time on The Bachelor was an emotional rollercoaster, Bridget says she would do a show like this again.

"I grew so much as a person and gained so much self-love and self-confidence."

And is she still looking for love?

"Yes, of course, I am. Maybe I have already found it... we will have to wait and see!"
