We find out more about that white rose on 'The Bachelor SA'

accreditation

Marc Buckner's search for love on The Bachelor SA has begun.

On Thursday the 36-year-old met the 22 women who will be competing for his heart and also had to let go of two of them.

To get that all-important first impression rose the women went to great lengths to impress him. From sweet treats to cute pick-up lines to matching bathing costumes, it was game on.

But it was Silke Geugis who made an impression on Marc with a hand-drawn portrait of his dog Luna.

The ladies were in for a surprise during the rose ceremony though, when they spotted a white rose in the bouquet.

Marc called dancer, Pasha Dos Santos and presented her with the white rose, which she gladly accepted.

Speaking about that moment, the 27-year-old from Milnerton says she had mixed emotions.

"I was kind of happy and surprised at the same time, as it was the first rose to be handed out at the ceremony. The white rose is also different from all the other red roses, which I liked in a way too, but it also made me a little nervous as I didn't know what it meant."

On what she thought it signified Pasha thought it could mean that she could get the first one-on-one date.

The addition of the white rose is a delicious twist, asked whether she thinks this now puts a target on her back Pasha teases, "You will have to see how this played out, but I won't be surprised if some of the ladies saw me in a different light after receiving the rose."

M-Net's Head of Publicity Lani Lombard says, "The white rose is an exciting new element to the second season of the show and, as we expected, it created loads of suspense and drama and commotion among the ladies.

"Don't be surprised if it turns out to have even more significance than the first impression rose. Why did Marc decide to give it to Pasha, and not to any of the other women? And for how long will she be able to keep it? You will have to watch the next episode!"

The Bachelor SA season 2 airs Thursdays at 19:00 on M-Net (DStv 101).
