2015's best music videos

Johannesburg – The last few years have seen artists in the local music industry put more effort into the music videos they produce, often entertaining or inspiring just as much as a film would.

2015 was no different, with some of the year’s videos among the best we’ve ever seen. So, grab the popcorn (or your dancing shoes) because here’s some of our favourite music videos of 2015:

iFani – Ayedelela

When the opening sequence shows iFani getting ready to have a giant lunch in his teeny tiny shorts and a traditional stick, later to be mobbed by thousands of adoring fans at his door, you know it’s going to be one hell of a fun video. Luckily, it only gets better from there.

Anatti x AKA – The Saga

Anatti thought it was the future (or at least his glasses though so). AKA thought it was junk. Still the video was nominated several times in the annual SA Hip Hop Awards, so it can’t be all that bad. In fact, we think it’s kind of grown on us.

Kelly Khumalo x Arthur – Nguye Lo

Kelly Khumalo finally got the white wedding she has been waiting her whole life to have. But all jokes aside, this music video holds a special place in our heart. Not only do the bride and groom both look incredible, but it also features cameo’s from Kelly’s kids, Christian and Thingo.

Riky Rick – Sondela

Riky Rick has never hidden the fact that he’s a family man and that he absolutely adores his son, Malik. In fact, he went so far as to not only dedicate a song to his boy, but also the song’s music video, giving fans a glimpse of Riky’s home video collection. Proud parent on fleek!

Cassper Nyovest- Mama I Made It

Cassper’s video not only sees the rapper perform from the rooftops to hundreds of adoring fans, but also signaled a return home for the star. The video was not only shot in his hometown of Mafikeng, but also features both of his parents. They say home is where the heart (and the hit) is.
