Johannesburg - 5FM news reader, Carmen Reddy is recovering after being shot during a house invasion at her Centurion home on Wednesday night.
Carmen was at her home along with her mother, a friend and 5FM DJ, Vic Naidoo, when armed men approached them.
Speaking to The Juice about the incident, Vic says they were celebrating Diwali when a man walked into the room with a gun pointed at them.
"There were three other men wearing balaclavas and they were armed. Carmen kept on screaming and the men told her to keep quiet."
Vic says he was forced down onto the floor with a gun pointed at his head.
It's believed the men made off with nothing but a cellphone. During the hold-up, Carmen was shot in the shoulder and was later rushed to hospital.
Those close to her say she is in a stable condition.
Carmen is part of DJ Fresh's team in the morning's on 5FM.
