6 questions for Top Actor Africa finalist Shamilla Miller

Cape Town – Top Actor Africa contestant Shamilla Miller is the last woman standing.

The Cape Town born actress has advanced to the Top 3 round of the competition and will battle it out with the other finalists for that much coveted title.

Shamilla is no stranger to the spotlight as she has been working on stage as well as TV and film in numerous productions since graduating from AFDA with a BA degree in Film and Live performance.

We had a quick chat with Shamilla about the competition.

What made you decide to enter the competition?

I was a bit apprehensive about the reality component of the show, but after doing some research about it and discussing it with my agent I realised that it was a great opportunity for my career.

Did you think you would make it to top 3 and what do you think has given you the staying power?

My goal was to make it to top 5 and once I reached that I really wanted to make it to the end of the competition. I worked really hard at every challenge that we were given, I put my best foot forward and remained true to myself.

What has the Top Actor experience been like?

While it has been a lot, it is extremely challenging and emotionally taxing. It has really felt like one long job interview. But it has also been a rewarding experience when you advance to the next level.

Who is your biggest threat on Top Actor?

100% Jesse! He is a very strong competitor. If I don’t win I would really want him to win.

What's your dream role?

For a movie I would like to do an action or a sci-fi movie and for TV a political drama.

Who's your perfect leading man?

Will Smith or Joseph Gordon-Levitt. A think a leading man should be confident, charming but not arrogant and compliment his leading lady.
