Johannesburg - Rapper AKA has thrown shade on iFani's record one day gold achievement, claiming the rapper only achieved his feat because iFani's sponsors bought the album from him.
AKA rocked the boat on Tuesday afternoon when he tweeted about his album, Levels, going gold...
If a brand bought 20 000 IFani albums ... Surely I could get someone to buy the remaining 2K right? ??

For the record: I think Ifani deserves that Gold Status for working the system. He saw an opportunity and took it. More power to him.

The claim, that iFani had got his sponsor Redds to buy the albums he needed to go gold, was so intense that iFani himself responded a few minutes later to deny it.
Just as a side note tho b'reiy, @akaworldwide ,Redds did not buy 20 000 copies of my album. Enkosi for the congratulations ????? #work

but AKA wouldn't let up on the claim
IFani has dropped a slew of hit records throughout 2014 and 2015 ... Who am I to argue?! GOLD IN A DAY!!!! WOW!! Big Up To His fans!

This 20k selling album? ... Featuring hits singles like _____________________

As the story started trending, Redds took to Twitter to deny involvement in iFani's one day gold achievement.
We support local talent & we are proud of @iFani_Haymani. The brand did not have any involvement in buying copies of the album.

AKA obviously took this the wrong way because he soon tweeted...
I was prepared to let it slide but now this guy is saying it's an "accusation" and the brand is saying I'm lying.
— AKA (@akaworldwide) May 12, 2015
Instead of just accepting the props, Redds and Ifani want to discredit me because they are ashamed that they lied to you.
— AKA (@akaworldwide) May 12, 2015
BE ON THE LOOKOUT. IFANI AND REDDS WILL GIVE YOU COPIES OF THIS ALBUM!!! NOT A FUCKING MAYBE!!! ITS A GUARANTEE!!!
— AKA (@akaworldwide) May 12, 2015
On the real ... WHO BOUGHT THIS ALBUM?!?!?!?! step forward now!!!!
— AKA (@akaworldwide) May 12, 2015
iFani later apologised to Redds for AKA's behaviour.
But what do y'all think? Is AKA right? Or is this a case of sour grapes that his own album hasn't yet gone gold?
