Actors Thato, Sisa and Motlatsi wage war against nyaope

Johannesburg - Popular actors Thato Molamu, Sisa Hewana and Motlatsi Mafatshe are men on a mission! A mission to clear the streets of Nyaope!

While many of us were soaking in the last of the sun on Sunday, Thato (of Generations fame), Sisa and Motlatsi (who plays Skhumbuzo and Sechaba on Isidingo) were hitting the streets of Soweto to document and support a community football team who are fighting the scourge of nyaope in the area.

The team were playing in the finals of a local football tournament and were visited by the actors who recorded their journey, in hope that other youth will take up the challenge to choose sport rather than drugs.

Taking to social media during the visit Motlatsi wrote: "Myself and these gentle brothers @thatomolamu @sisahewana #gatewaymedia randomly went to inspire boys in the hood, some dealing with #nyaope and wanna overcome it. When we asked them what help they needed 80% of them said support.... Lets support our communities in every way we can."

We are in the hood #Soweto supporting our Local Soccer Teams. Boys affected by #Nyaope and they are finding comfort from that life in #Sports. They are in red of a Field to Train, Kits and many more things so that they beat the abdication. They can't do it alone #SouthAfrica.
