Afro-pop group Muzart break up!

Johannesburg - Stop whatever you doing, Muzart fans! Your favourite band has broken up... well, kinda.

It was announced on Tuesday that the pop group has disbanded and regrouped. This after two of its members, Jabu Jnr and guitarist Sol Stringer, broke away to form a new group called Smiley Freaks.

The remaining members, Rorisang Thandekiso (lead vocalist), Refentse 'Vic' Chauke and Tazzy Lehutso both on keys, will continue as Muzart.

"We've had an amazing run over the past five years as a five member band and we all gave it our all and did the best we could. We have learnt a lot and have grown in business and craft over the years and would like to thank the public and fans for the undying support," they said in a statement.

"We have however come to a place where some band members wanted to grow and venture out and experiment with new ideas and have decided to separate and regroup to form a new Muzart band."

The band's last show was at the DSTV Delicious Festival. Read what the band's Sol had to tell us about the show and future collaborations HERE.
