Amanda du-Pont was laughed at for joining Skeem Saam

Johannesburg - Everyone - and we mean, like, everyone loves Lelo on Skeem Saam!

But the actress who plays Lelo, Amanda du-Pont, says she was laughed at when she told friends and fans that she was joining the show.

"You know people laughed at me when I joined Skeem Saam. Like, why would I be part of such a ratchet production?," she revealed on Instagram recently. 

Now, as Amanda points out, the show is on its way to being one of the most watched shows in Mzansi and the haters are not laughing, but crying.

"We bout to be number 1 most watched in Southern Africa, wonder if they still laughing," she wrote.

Fans were quick to respond to Amanda's post, many saying they initially doubted the show, but now cannot live without it and Amanda.

And we couldn't agree more!
