Anga Makubalo reveals the reasons behind missing shows

Johannesburg - Anga Makubalo AKA NaakMusiq has blamed a series of no-shows on the demands of a busy schedule.

The actor and musician, who will return to TV soon as Ntando on e.tv action drama Z'bondiwe, came under fire from fans recently after he skipped several shows, including three shows in Port Elizabeth last month.

Anga apologised to fans at the time, blaming it on issues with flights, but says the real reason behind his no-shows is his packed schedule.

Anga plays the main role in e.tv's new action drama, Z'bondiwe and says the role brought a rollercoaster of emotions.

"It's a mind juggle because my character Ntando is a good person who has to do bad things. The switch is an emotional rollercoaster but I absolutely enjoyed it. It's completely different to MJ," he says.

But the demands of being on set, and sometimes after hours, often meant he had to juggle his music, and acting career - and he admits he sometimes dropped the ball.

"Sometimes I had gigs that were pre-planned and then found out that on Saturday I actually have a night shoot, and so I would have to cancel with gigs, I had confirmed months ago and promoters weren't happy," he explains.

"I had to juggle my schedule and try to keep everyone happy, and near the end it got a bit too much. I would often just ask the promoters if I could reschedule and they would get upset," Anga told The Juice in a recent chat.

Still he says that he was able to reschedule a number of the gigs he missed, and is looking forward to performing for his fans who missed him the first time around.
