Generations actress didn't know she was getting the axe

Johannesburg - Generations: The Legacy actress Asanda Foji seems to be in a state of confusion over her job at the popular soapie.

Earlier this week a string of rumours surfaced, which claimed that Asanda Foji, Denise Zimba and Ivy Nkutha were going to be fired. (Read that story here

On Tuesday afternoon Generations released a press statement confirming that Denise had asked to be released from her contract and that Asanda would also be leaving the soapie.

"Simphiwe played by the lovely Asanda Foji is leaving Generations: The Legacy. She made a remarkable contribution to the soap and we wish her all the best with her future prospects. The show's creator Mfundi Vundla also expressed his well wishes for the talent actress," read the statement.

But the soap star seems to be as confused as the rest of us. Asanda took to Twitter on Tuesday where she asked people to stop spreading rumours about her.

"People stop spreading rumours about me that I'm fired, I'm not!!! - feeling annoyed," she wrote.

In an interview with Daily Sun just hours after the press statement was released, Asanda also seemed shocked by the news.

"What? I don't know what you are talking about. I have not been told that. Maybe my agent is going to call me about that. I just don't understand what's going on," she told the paper.

Meanwhile, Generations has also confirmed that Ivy Nkutha, who plays Gog'Flo, is not leaving the soapie despite the rumours doing the rounds.
