Johannesburg- Aubrey Poo has revealed that he's recovering at home after losing his voice from Laryngitis.

The actor says that he got the fright of his life (and career) when he realised that he doesn't have a voice.

Aubrey explained that the illness has given him a wake up call, and made him realise how important his voice is to his career.

"For the second time in my career I'm made to realise how important the 'instrument' that is my voice is. I haven't been able to do what I love in days because of Laryngitis," he wrote on Instagram.

The actor added that he's determined to get well soon, so that he can return to doing what he loves.

Aww…hope you back to your ol' self soon!

This morning I woke up scared! For the 2nd time in my career, I've lost my voice and am on vocal rest. For the second time in my career I'm made to realized how important the "instrument"that is my voice is. I haven't been able to do what I ?? (?? ????) in days because of Laryngitis. I'm one to take care of myself and do all to protect the "instrument" but the bitter cold we've been experiencing and other factors have rendered me unfit to "rise to the scene of battle". This can't be me! I'll put in the work to get better but the rest is all grace and prayer. #ThankYouForMyGift ???? I hope I get better soon so that I can go share this gift of story and song with your people...again. #fortheloveofacting #fortheloveoftheatre #instathespian #AlwaysProtectTheWork
