Aussie show defends airing of Oscar video

The Seven Network has issued a press statement, defending the airing of the controversial Oscar Pistorius re-enactment video.

The full episode, with a video of Oscar re-enacting the night he killed Reeva Steenkamp was aired in Australia yesterday on a show called Sunday Night.

Executive producer, Mark Llewellyn insists that the video was not obtained unlawfully.

"The material shown on Sunday Night goes to the heart of both the prosecution and defence cases, including the account provided by Oscar Pistorius. We would not have run the footage if we thought we had obtained it illegally. The story was run in Australia only and not made available to any other territory."
