Beatenberg tell us their ideal space odyssey involves reading books on Pluto! ... Well that's fancy.

South African pop band, Beatenberg,  are racing up the charts with their hit single, Still Remember You (Pluto). We got a minute with their drummer, Robin Brink, to chat about the single, the band’s love of champagne and why wood glue doesn't stick to the tube.

Your hit single “Still remembers you (Pluto) is number one on practically every chart in the country. How does that feel?

It’s really cool! I think when we got to number one on the 5FM charts it really hit home. I whatsapped my mom and then we went to get champagne in Braamfontein. I think it’s meaningful because we not in a box or market, we really are just making music that everybody likes.

If you could take one thing to Pluto, what would it be? Champagne I assume?

Yeah, me and our bassist Ross are complete idiots about drinking Champagne! When we play gigs out of town we have to stop past the wine estates on the way to get really nice champagne. Otherwise, I would take some books, have a book party!

And if you could take any celeb with?

Scarlett Johansson and Eva Greene. No doubt. Yes please!

Sounds racy. Tell us, who would you rather meet in a dark alley; Gerrie Nel dressed as Nikki Minaj or Barry Roux dressed as Lil Wayne?

I don’t really know who either of those are but I would love to see that old Afrikaans dude dressed as Lil Wayne. We big fans of Nikki Minaj and Lil Wayne.

So you a fan of Hip Hop. Any other closet bands you don’t want others to know you listen to?

Phoenix! I love Phoenix . they so sick but I also like Beyonce. She’s so good, she’s banging!

Final question, for Gryffindor, why doesn’t wood glue stick to the inside of the tube?

Probably because the plastic it contains is not as porous as the wood it’s suppose to bind. The plastic repels it and it has a coating which protects the plastic from sticking.
