Beatenberg took us all by surprise this year with their hit singles, Pluto and Rafael. Although Pluto probably announced them to the country as the hottest new thing, it was Rafael that sealed them as more than one hit wonders.
The Juice caught up with Ross and the boys to talk about the track and the, uh, strange inspiration behind it.
“Matt grew up playing tennis and his dad was an avid tennis fan and player," the band's drummer Rob explains. "The song was kinda inspired by that and how epic it can be to be involved in tennis and at a Wimbledon final and also how that’s kind of striving really hard for success in music. The parallels are there," he adds.
Rob says the song has brought a new fame the band never expected. "Yeah the success has come as a surprise. We didn’t expect that things would keep going. We thought maybe it would be once off. It’s crazy. It’s hard to put in words”.
