Bobby and Karlien's dad gets caught up in a R20 million fraud fiasco

Bobby and Karlien Van Jaarsveld's dad, Bob, had police knocking at his door last week asking all kinds of questions about possible fraud.

According to Rapport on Sunday, the police questioned Bob last week about some dodgy business dealings he was said to be involved in, but have since withdrawn any charges against him.

All the drama stems from a coal business Bob ran in Mpumalanga with some business partners. The relationship between Bob (who was named as a director in the company) and other partners soured to the point that Bob went to the company's offices to pick up some of his stuff and saw documents he says showed financial irregularities amounting to R20 million.

The police were then called in and Bob was questioned, but was soon found to be innocent. But claims of assault against him remain under investigation.

Bob claims he is innocent of all charges and believes that it is a smear campaign drummed up by his former business partners.

But no matter the controversy, Bob still has the support of his family. Bobby told Rapport his dad is the most wonderful person he knows and has massive respect for him.
