Bonang and AKA deny affair claims

Johannesburg- Both AKA and Bonang have hit back at a blog post released by DJ Zinhle on Thursday afternoon, in which DJ Zinhle says AKA confirmed his romance with Bonang.

Zinhle took to her blog MomentsbyDJZinhle.com, where she released a statement confirming AKA confessed to having an affair with Bonang for over five months. (Read that story here

Moments after the statement was released, Bonang began trending on Twitter, with fans trashing her for the alleged affair. (Read that story here

Following the social media frenzy, Bonang's camp has issued a media statement, which denies that she is in a relationship and that the matter has been handed over to her legal team.

AKA's team has also issued a statement on his behalf, where he denies being romantically involved with Bonang.

Here's Bonang's full statement:

This is to confirm that Ms Matheba is aware of the allegations made against her, and the media reports surrounding the matter.

We are taking these statements very seriously and are unfortunately unable to comment further as the issue has been handed over to Ms Matheba’s legal team.

We can however confirm that Ms Matheba is currently not involved in a relationship, as she has always stated. Bonang is solely focused on her work and the projects she is finalising to ensure she wraps up what has been an incredible year, with a bang.

Bonang is in good spirits and looking forward to the premiere of her E! News Special, which airs this evening on Dstv 124 at 8:00pm.

Here's AKA's statement:

As a result of DJ Zinhle's recent blog post, I feel the need to provide clarity on the allegations contained therein.

I would have preferred that this could have been dealt with privately. Break ups can be tough and emotionally draining for all involved. I would like to add that myself and Bonang Matheba are not an item and never have been.

My energies are focused on my career and my daughter at this time.
