Brenda Fassie remembered on her birthday

Johannesburg - Friends and fans have remembered music icon, Brenda Fassie on what would have been her 51st birthday.

Speaking to The Juice previously, Brenda's former backup singer, Winnie Khumalo paid tribute to the late muso.

"Brenda was unpredictable. She was something else. She had an incredible spirit. She would change her mood within an instant, so that one moment she would be laughing and the next she would be crying. If she was here there would be so much drama," Winnie told us.

"I loved that woman. She taught me that in life there will be temptations, but you don't have to give into it to please people. Brenda would do things to please people. She would never say no because she wanted to make everyone happy, and in the end it was her that suffered. Her weakness was simple: she could not say no and it was heartbreaking," Winnie adds.

It's been 11 years since Brenda's death and the music industry still mourns for her special soul.
