Brenda Ngxoli maybe making waves as an actress, but she's still very much a 'rural' girl.

The Rockville actress told Sunday World that even though she's ben in the entertainment industry for 15 years, for her its work and her passion.

She explained that she's a rural girl from Eastern Cape and will always be proud of her roots. In fact, Brenda is more comfortable with chickens running around her than at a nightclub.

"I respect my roots, my culture, traditions and the rural way of life. I can't allow city life to drain the African soul in me," she explained.

Brenda added that she has told herself that she will not allow herself to become a slave to fame.

And, unlike her on-screen character Gladys, who loves shebeens and to gossip, Brenda is more reserved and loves spending time at home with friends and family.

Wow!
