Johannesburg – Things are shaping up for Cassper Nyovest’s performance at the dome, set for the end of October.
Talking to ANN 7 this week, Cassper says he is tired of being mediocre and playing in small clubs. He adds that he hopes to motivate people to think that it’s possible to sell out to the dome, and make it a norm for local artists.
Celebs and fans have been debating whether Cassper can do it, with many highlighting the exorbitant cost of hiring out the dome. But Cassper says his biggest cost is not actually rent!
“The whole concert is costing me about 4 million rand to do. The biggest part of the budget is the stage and the lighting and the production. I don’t think people have seen any South African or African with this kind of production," he revealed.
Adding, "You really need to come see what Africans can do if they are given the same platform, the same production and the same support. Our music is just as good.”
Cassper has not been short of support with many celebs offering their support. One of the most recent celebs to throw their hat into the ring and offer support is uber-popular house group Mi Casa .
