Charlize on World Aids Day: "I don't care...We can't wait for a cure!"

Charlize Theron says we cannot sit and wait for a cure to solve all the problems of HIV/Aids and instead we must change our behaviour.

The local beaut knows all about the disease, which has been so rampant in South Africa over the last decade or two, and was talking to the BBC on World Aids Day, when she revealed that she got involved in the project because of her SA roots. "To see the kind of unnecessary suffering that's happening there, it's a no brainer for me," she says.

She says the only way to deal with the disease is to understand that changing human behaviour can change not only the way the disease is transmitted but also improves the lives of those who live with the disease.
