Child star Morena Sefatsa makes his TV comeback

Johannesburg - He may be best known as the face of kids show Craz-e, but Morena Sefatsa says he doesn't want to be known as a child star anymore.

Talking to the Juice recently, the new host of e.tv's game show Shikisha reveals that he was so desperate to shake off his image as a child star that he decided to leave Craz-e, and the entire industry, three years ago to focus on music.

"I had been there, done that and got the T-shirt and so I decided to reinvent myself. I always wanted to do music and so I decided to give myself the space to do it on my own terms. I never wanted to be seen as a child star who wanted to do music. That's why I went completely off the grid," he tells us.

Morena has come back to us a few years later as a polished artist. His single, Faith Alive, has been playlisted and is charting on Metro, YFM and 5FM.

And, with his music career set, he feels now is the right time to make a TV comeback.

"This is my first TV jobs in three years. We've had discussions for years but I didn't feel like I was ready to return. I really need a song out there that could introduce people to what I do now. I am now a musician first and foremost and a TV presenter after. I needed to get to a point where I could say that and people would believe me," he says.

Catch Morena as the host of Shikisha on e.tv from Monday, 7 September at 6PM.
