Correctional services denies preparing a cell for Oscar

The department of Correctional Services has rubbished claims that it has already secured a cell for Oscar Pistorius.

Eyewitness News revealed this morning that they had been tipped off by an official who could not be identified that a cell in one of the most secured sections of  Pretoria Central prison has already been reserved for Oscar.

Apparently prison officials had a meeting and did not want to leave anything to chance. The organisation also reported that Oscar would be sharing the section with Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir.

Shortly after the reports emerged, Correctional services spokesperson Mthunzi Mhaga  issued a statement denying that the department had prepared a cell for the paralympian.

"Any insinuation that the department has prepared a cell to incarcerate anyone who has not yet been sentenced to a jail term is both malicious and irresponsible," he said.
