DJ Saba's legacy lives on despite new replacement

Johannesburg - Legendary radio DJ Saba Mbixane's slots on Umhlobo Wenene FM has finally been filled!

Saba's death earlier this year sent shockwaves across Mzansi and gave birth to a unique competition.

Umhlobo Wenene FM announced that they would not immediately replace the DJ, instead giving several DJs a chance to present in the slot and allow fans to vote for their favourite.

This past weekend the competition's winner was announced: 41 year old Monwabisi “Gudlabatshakazi” Bangi.

According to Daily Sun, Monwabisi will now take over the Siwela UThukela and Lavuth’ibhayi shows on Umhlobo Wenene FM.

"This will not be an easy job and I will need the prayers of listeners. I ask them to be patient with me and not expect another Saba on the show. I’m bringing my own style," the DJ popularly known as DJ Gudla told the paper.

Good luck to him!
