Johannesburg - If you are looking to hire a car for your next vacay, best you don't go the same route as DJ Sox's friend.
According to Sunday Sun, the DJ has been accused of making his friends wallet R10 000 lighter, after suggesting a car hire company which didn't deliver.
You see there's a car hire scam that is going on in Durban and several Durban artists and individuals have fallen for it. It implicates a car hire business whose bosses claim there is another scam company using their name to scam people.
And in the centre of it all is musician DJ Sox, who is said to have referred a friend to a man in the 'company' who ran off with his money.
But Sox says he was dragged into the mess by crooks.
"I'm glad that when I worked with this guy he never cheated me. The problem started when I referred other clients to him and he swindled them. In the last incident my Swaziland friend deposited R10 000 for car rental- but his money went down the drain. I regret this. They used me as a middle man."
