Derick Hougaard shares pic after 'big' car crash

Cape Town – Former Springbok rugby player, Derick Hougaard was involved in a "big" car crash on Monday night.

The 32-year-old, who is currently going through a very public breakup, took to Facebook to share a photo of the damage to his car. 

Derick wrote; "Thank you Netcare 911!!! I was in a big accident. You were all amazing. I appreciate it. You all have hearts of gold. Really thankful!!! God Bless you (sic)."

No further information about the cause of the accident has been revealed.

In the first post on his Facebook page since news broke of his split from Karlien van Jaarsveld, Derick wrote; "And to Toyota SA for the cars that you build. It’s more than just selling cars. Safety is number  1 and thank you angels you saved me (sic)"
