Flabba's sister: "The country has lost a role model"

A memorial in honour of Skwatta Kamp rapper Flabba is currently underway in Newtown.

Flabba's older sister, Nomonde took to the stage to speak on behalf of her family. She struggled to hold back tears as she remembered her brother as a child.

"What has happened is a terrible tragedy. We have lost a great life, and the country has lost a role model," she said.

Nomonde thanked everyone who gathered at Baseline today for honouring Flabba's memory.

She added that whenever she thinks of Flabba, she remembers him as a baby in diapers with a big head. "Even though he was grown he still respected me as a big sister," she said.

Singer Nothende told mourners that she wanted to write a song for Flabba, but just couldn't find the words and instead sang one of his favourite songs.
