Former Jika Majika presenter Mpendulo is "down and out"

Eish! Times are really tough. Mpendulo Buthelezi can attest to this.

The former Jika Majika presenter is reportedly down and out and has sought help from Sunday Sun. The paper is reporting that Mpendulo, who hosted the popular show alongside Thembi Seete, is prepared to do anything to save his life.

He apparently urged the paper's readers to pass on contacts for jobs. He said: "Isimo sibi (life is tough). People keep asking me when am I going to return to TV. They don't understand that our work is mainly contractual and when that comes to an end when that comes to an end you're unemployed. You work today - and tomorrow there's no work at all."

He told the paper that he's currently working on a show which he believes is the answer to his prayers. "All I need is funds to enable me to get this show on air at the SABC."

For now, the former star relies on jobs assigned to his company, Mpendulo Buthelezi Entertainment.
