Francois Van Coke is going solo AND he's already started recording!

Francois Van Coke is going it alone!

The local rock legend took to Instagram and Twitter on Monday to share with his fans that he would be releasing a solo album due out 2015. And he has already started recording the album.

Francois teased with a picture of a studio microphone and the caption "'n Bietjie van dit en dan 'n bietjie van Jedd". Only a couple of minutes later he let the cat out the bag, posting a video of guitarist  Jedd Kossew strumming his strings. 

"The majestic Mr. @JediVCK in studio last night. We are working on my solo album. Available 2015," Francois wrote.

The pair have been friends for a long time and play together on Francois's band Van Coke Kartel.

We can't wait to hear Francois' solo stuff! But in the meantime, here's a video of Jedd working on the new album. *Picture: Instagram
