Generations breaks records

Despite the mixed reaction from viewers on social media, the SABC has revealed that Generations broke its own record with 10 million viewers.

SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago told Sowetan that they were informed that over 10million people tuned in to SABC1 to watch the revamped version of the hit soapie.

"The premiere of Generations: The Legacy went well and it received plenty of viewers as we were told that over10 million people were watching. This has never happened before. The highest it averaged before this was 8.6 million," he said.

Kaizer urged people to give the soapie a chance and not make a judgement based on the first few episodes as it's just the beginning.
