Johannesburg - It has been confirmed that despite threats on Cassper Nyovest's life, the musician will go ahead and perform in African countries.
His PR team, African Star, has just released a statement, confirming the news.
Yesterday Cassper posted a message on social media. In it, a group of people claiming to be Zimbabwean, threatened his life and called for his shows to be boycotted. It comes as days of Xenophobic violence spreads across South Africa, leaving at least five people dead and many others injured.
In the message posted yesterday, Cassper was warned not to perform in Zimbabwe...
"Cassper has received messages and calls threatening himself and his team, should he perform in Zimbabwe on Saturday, 25 April," reads the statements.
After several high-level meetings, Cassper and his team were reassured that all safety measures would be in place for his performance.
"We can however confirm that booked performances will be honoured. Promoters from the venues have ensured the safety of Cassper Nyovest , his team and fans."
Meanwhile, other artists set to perform in Zimbabwe in the coming days are considering their options as threats against them have also been spreading on social media.
