Johannesburg – After all those celebrations, congratulations and fan fare, The Juice can confirm that DJ Sbu does not in fact have a permanent slot on CliffCentral.
The controversial DJ was billed as having a show every Thursday on CliffCentral.
But CliffCentral co-founder Rina Bloomberg has confirmed that this is not the case.
She says that after hosting his first show, Sbu admitted that he would not have the time to commit to a weekly show. "He hosted his first show and his schedule is just so crazy, that he couldn't commit to a permanent slot."
Huh? So why all the hooha about Sbu joining?
Well, Rina insists that they were under the impression that it would be a permanent slot, but that Sbu has now simply told people that it was an April Fools joke, even saying the prank came from Gareth Cliff. "That's not true though. Gareth doesn't do April Fools jokes," she explained.
This doesn't mean there are any issues between CliffCentral and Sbu though. Rina says Sbu spoke about the matter on air to Gareth last week and CliffCentral has extended an open invitation to have him host a show. "That's the way CliffCentral works. We know Sbu is busy and we'll gladly have him host a show whenever he has the time. There are no issues linked to this at all."
Hmmm, CliffCentral is a lot more forgiving than we'd be. #Justsaying
