Say it isn't so!
After more than a decade in the industry, and about two years on the hit soapie Muvhango, there are claims that Rami Chuene is being written out of the script.
This is according to Sunday World, who are reporting that the soap star's contract ended on 31 August and won't be renewed.
However, when the newspaper called for comment she dismissed the claims. "I'm hearing that I have been written out for the first time from you. They didn't tell me. I know I finished shooting at the end of May, but my contract ran until August 31," she explained.
Rami added that they were on a break now and believed that actors' contracts would be renewed when the season opens.
Rami's publicist on the other hand confirmed the rumours, which is completely bizarre. Amanda Ngudle confirmed to the newspaper that she would soon "disappear from the small screen."
She added that Rami's exit was not an issue at all and whether or not her exit was permanent depended on the story writing team.
Muvhango's PR manager Kgalema Mametse also confirmed the news. "Rami's character was storyline driven and the contracts ends with the story," he explained.
