Itu Khune parts ways with Chiefs

Johannesburg - Itumeleng Khune will leave Kaizer Chiefs when his contract expires at the end of the month, it was announced by the club on Tuesday morning.

Itu will follow star defender Tefu Mashamaite and rising star Mandla Masango who were also not offered new contracts, amidst rumours that they were asking for too much in wages.

"As far as Itu is concerned, his case became more disrespectful to the club,” said Chief's chairman Kaizer Motaung at a press conference held by the club.

“He sent us a note to say he will discuss (his contract) on 18 June. We cannot be held to ransom by anyone. The game and the club is bigger than anyone. We have decided to move on.” Kaizer added.
