Jacob Zuma praises Cassper Nyovest for #FillUpTheDome

Johannesburg - It seems there is no stopping the praise for hip-hop star, Cassper Nyovest!

This weekend he made history by being the first local musician to fill the Ticketpro Dome to capacity.

With a 20 000 strong crowd making its way to the venue in Johannesburg, Cassper not only filled the Dome, but achieved a dream he first mentioned at the beginning of the year.

He spoke openly about not getting all of the support that he wanted, and using his own cash to make his dream a reality. "Filling up the Dome was never about making money. It was about inspiring children to believe in their dream," he said during a closed press conference with selected media.

Now President Jacob Zuma has added his voice of support to the artist, congratulating him on his achievement. "We congratulate Cassper Nyovest for his tremendous success which has demonstrated the rich talent that exists within our country’s music industry especially amongst our youth. Cassper has also confirmed the enormous support for local music by our youth, which augurs well for the development of our arts, culture and heritage," reads a statement released by the presidency.

In the aftermath of the historical achievement, Cassper couldn't contain his excitement.
