A new talk show is coming to SABC 3!
The show, which is titled Tongue in Cheek, will be hosted by Anele Mdoda and will include a panel made up of funny man Michael de Pinna, social butterfly, Carolyn Steyn and business woman, Shashi Naidoo.
Speaking to The Juice, the show's producer, Janez Vermeiren said they decided to go for a panel of people that you would probably never put in a room together. "We got four different people from different backgrounds and age groups," he said. Janez said the show tackles current issues, the latest gossip, red carpet fashion and celebrities.
The show's format is similar to American shows like The View and The Talk. "There's nothing quite like it in South Africa. There are so many relevant topics that people can discuss, but nothing catering for such topics," Janez said.
He added that he thinks Tongue in Cheek will do well because the topics are relevant to the country's audience. "We have Anele as the host and she's the golden lady for South African TV. She has never really been given the opportunity to do something like this. The great thing about Anele is that she says it like it is."
