Jason Derulo: "I'm a simple man"

The Talk Dirty singer is heading to South Africa this September for the I Heart Joburg Festival. We caught up with the singer to find out how excited he is to head back here and what he"ll be drinking when in SA.

First up, are you excited to be coming to South Africa?

I’m super excited to be coming to South Africa. This is not the first time I’m coming through, I’ve been here a couple of times but never for something this big, so I’m excited!

What can we expect from the show?

A whole new show that y’all never seen before. There will be new dancers; I’ve hired a whole bunch of dancers. It’s high energy, definitely a roller coaster ride and a journey. Each show is slightly different to the next, so I’m excited. I believe you’ll have me for an hour and a half.

That is long. Yay. What are you most excited to do when you come to South Africa?

I’m really looking forward to the food but not looking forward to the weight I might gain from eating it. I also hear there’s gonna be a cool after party.

Heck yeah! What the one thing you would like to take home from South Africa?

Definitely an animal or two. That would be cool.

Well, Jason, if you would like, we could organise you an African princess to take home.

(laughs) No thanks.

Okay, don’t say we didn’t offer. Tell us, what’s on your backstage rider?

Ah, I’m pretty simple. Two magnum bottles of Grey Goose, two magnum bottles of Jack Daniels, sandwiches and fruit!

Sounds like a jol!
