Everywhere we go people are talking about K.O, even in the UK it seems.
No doubt 2014 was a big year for K.O. His track Caracara was a massive hit with over a million Youtube views and endless radio play. Now it seems the good people at BBC Radio 1 in the UK were taking notice, because they named the rapper as one of 5 African artists to watch out for in 2015.
BBC's African music correspondent and radio host, DJ Edu, announced the list on Monday afternoon. DJ Edu is the BBC's only African music correspondent and was instrumental in making African artists like K'naan and Nneka popular in Britain. So, let's hope he can do the same for K.O.
Although K.O is the only SA artist on the bill, he seems overjoyed at the news, posting the info on his Instagram with the caption: "The world is watching!! Africa its our turn!#BBC1Xtra @1Xtra thank you for the nod #MotivatedToWorkEvenHarder #GodIsWatching#FromSAToTheWorld #SkhandaRepublic#CashtimeLife".
Way to go, K.O! Next goal: Get people riding Caravelles in London!
