Katlego Danke: "I want to be the best mom"

Katlego Danke has managed to keep a low profile on her private life. The Generations actress, who has been in the spotlight for over a decade, is now pregnant with her first child and is beaming with joy. She opened up to Mamas & Papas magazine on her pregnancy for the first time.

On her journey to motherhood she said: "I consciously waited to fall pregnant and start a family. I really wanted to be mentally and emotionally ready, as well as prepare physically and financially for this incredible responsibility."

The South Africa Film and Television (SAFTA) award winning actress told the magazine that her pregnancy has been a great journey in many ways. "I finally understand from a soulful place and what a miracle the female body is. I've discovered things about my body that I have never even heard of and it's been an incredibly satisfying and awe-inspiring journey."

Katlego is not worried about becoming a first-time mother, as she believes that it takes a village to raise a child. "So I am very open to seeking and receiving support from those in my life, especially because as women, we undergo phenomenal changes from pregnancy to pregnancy, and again after birth," she said, adding that she wants to be the best mom she can be and raise her child to be the best human being they can be.
