Kaya FM's Mo-G on climbing Kilimanjaro

Johannesburg - Kaya FM drive time host, Mo-G, is used to challenging callers and topics, but now he will face a whole new challenge: Kilimanjaro!

This month Mo will trek up Africa's highest peak to raise funds and awareness for the Imbumba Foundation’s Caring4Girls programme, which provides sanitary care for underprivileged girls across South Africa.

Mo, along with several others, will summit the peak on the 18th of July to celebrate Nelson Mandela Day.

Mo-G starts his journey next week and told The Juice he is excited, and a little nervous, to get going.

"I have to be honest I am quite nervous. Excited! But nervous," Mo says.

"In the past I've done the occasional small hike, nothing hectic but I've obviously had to up my game. We've taken a couple of hiking trips with the team to the Drakensberg to prepare," he says.

As Mo tells us, the hardest part of the climb is the final stretch and luckily for him he will have the support of a number of experienced climbers including celebs Penny Lebyane, Leanne Manas and ProVerb (who has conquered the heights of Kilimanjaro before).

Remember the first rule of hiking, Mo: Never ever forget your water bottle behind!
