Kelly Khumalo: "Senzo died in my arms"

Kelly Khumalo has revealed that Senzo Meyiwa died in her arms.

The singer was quoted in The Star newspaper as saying, “I saw him die in my arms. His lips turned blue and he took a deep breath. It was not easy watching the man you love die.”

Kelly opened up to her friend and author Melinda Ferguson about the shooting. "I have never seen a person so distressed like her. Every piece of her was broken," Melinda told The Star.

Melinda had visited Kelly at her Mulbarton home to comfort her. She said Kelly told her that Senzo wanted to spend the night at her mother's house in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg. "They were with Senzo's friends at the time. She said Senzo wanted to be at her home, where she had grown up. But Kelly insisted that they leave."

Earlier this week, Melinda told The Juice that Kelly and Senzo really loved each other.

The soccer player was shot and killed on Sunday evening. His burial will take place on Saturday in Umlazi, Durban.
