Khanyi Mbau: "My first pay cheque was R80 000"

Even though the controversial socialite and actress won't open up about the drama involving her shocking exit from Strictly Come Dancing, in true Khanyi style, she's swooped in on the Generations saga... well kind of!

Khanyi has revealed that when she entered the industry more than 10 years ago, she was paid a salary of R80 000 to star on SABC's Muvhango.

"I was just 17 years old when I got onto the show. My first pay cheque was R80 000. I've never worked in my life. Yes, I made money from Kideo Kids but it was always my mom's money," she said.

"And here I am, the first pay cheque is 80 000, boom, into my account. And, I had only opened the account two days before because they told me they needed an account to put my money into," Khanyi explained to Nicky Greenwall during an interview.

Don't know if you guys remember but Khanyi played the character of Doobsie on the hit soapie.

Whoa...thanks Khanyi for sharing that!

Parts of the interview was released ahead of next week's episode of The Close Up.
