Khanyi "My daughter is my reason for waking every morning"

It's 2015 and everyone's all about being a new person, especially Khanyi Mbau!

There was a time when Khanyi Mbau was known more for her fancy lifestyle than her family life. When Khanyi's daughter, Khanukani was first born, friends and fans thought she might change and perhaps start showing off her family and daughter a little more. Instead they were only treated to the usual staple diet of skimpy outfits, fast cars, big money and flashy bling.

But Khanyi tells The Juice it all started to change when she had to move house last year. "I had just moved into a new place and I realised I had all this stuff and no room for my daughter," she says.

"I realised I was always wanting to spend time in Dubai and Paris, but I wasn't spending any time with my daughter. I had spent all this money (she says in excess of R800 000) on designer clothes and flashy cars and yet I hadn't even taken my daughter to Disneyland," she says. "And yet the only person who was there to help me pack away and throw away all these old things was my daughter,"she added.

Khanyi says when she realised this she broke down in tears and explained to her daughter how she had failed her. "She responded by just holding me and saying 'It's okay, Mommy. I was a baby then. I'm a big girl now!'"

"She is my guide and my life. I realise now that she's the most important thing in my life and the only reason I wake up every morning is for her," she says.
