Koze Kuse's DJ Merlon turns down the EFF

DJ Merlon has said no to the EFF after they asked him to play at one of their student council celebration parties this weekend.

According to Sowetan, the Koze Kuse hitmaker was suppose to play at a victory party for the EFF student council at the University of Limpopo on Saturday, but pulled out and returned the appearance fee because the organisers had not fully disclosed that the event was being held by a political party.

DJ Merlon told the paper that he was made to believe it was an event for varsity students, but only found out later that it was a victory party for the EFF and EFF leader Julius Malem would be speaking.

DJ Merlon says he does not mix his career with politics and was worried about security at the event this weekend, but he would consider performing at an EFF event in the future if he was told in advance.

After all, like he says, "DJ Merlon is for everyone".
