Lerato Moloi may be Elizabeth Arden's first black model with her face splashed on billboards across the country, but deep down she's just a simple girl.
The model and mother of two will open up about her life and journey into being in the spotlight on The Close up with Nicky Greenwall tonight. And, you'll be surprised to know that she still has a hard time believing all the hype that comes with being a 'celebrity.'
"Every time I see a picture of myself I cannot connect with that person that I’m looking at because it’s not me."
Lerato says that she finds it hard to believe that one day she was just a small-town tomboy and the next she was dubbed as an "It" girl.
"I remember, I can honestly say this, it was one of the things that drove my fear, was being hurt for being too pretty, too beautiful. Because most of my life I was ugly, considered ugly, told I was ugly. And now in this industry I’m being told how gorgeous and spectacular I am, and every person I’m meeting is telling me this, but I’m taking it with a pinch of salt because they might hurt me," she explained.
