Johannesburg - Legendary TV actress, Lilian Dube has had to postpone her 70th birthday celebrations as she recovers from a single mastectomy.
Lillian was admitted into hospital recently, where doctors removed her breast after cancerous cells were discovered (more on that here).
And while her team tell us she is well on her way to recovery, it seems she may not be strong enough to celebrate her 70th birthday with friends and fans as planned (read more about that here).
In a statement released on Thursday, a disappointed Lillian announced that she has postponed her upcoming birthday celebrations to allow herself enough time to heal properly from her surgery.
"I am disappointed to postpone my birthday celebrations and the launch of The Celebrities for Good Causes Foundation, but I have to make my health a priority," she said. "I am feeling a lot better, but I am going to need a little more time to recover. As they say 'the show must go on' and I will be now celebrating my 70th birthday later than planned."
Lillian has once again thanked her fans for their support during this difficult time and says she hopes to celebrate with them soon.
Get better soon, Ma Lillian!
