Mahoota is offering a R60 000 reward to anyone with information about an incident where he was hijacked and his dj equipment was stolen.
Sunday Sun is reporting that the popular DJ was hijacked last week and had a gun was pointed at him before his Mercedez-Benz Viano was taken. He said his Trompies group members were coming from a gig in Nelspruit and stopped at [DJ] Vetkuk’s house to pick him up. While they were waiting for Vetkuk, they saw a bakkie but ignored it.
"We were standing outside when we noticed this bakkie roaming up and down the street. The next thing we saw were guns pointed at us. We were instructed to lie down," he told the paper. The robbers allegedly took the group's belongings before driving off in their bus. He said their customised bus was later recovered in Alexandra, but all their belongings were gone.
The stolen items include laptops, phones, DJ equipment, clothes and jewellery worth R400 000.
