Mampho Brescia just can't seem to shake off Iris

Actress Mampho Brescia is known to most of Mzansi as the super villain Iris on hit soapie Isibiya. A role she plays with such distinction, it's even earned her a Royalty Soapie Award nomination for Outstanding Female Villain.

But when she sat down with The Juice recently she told us we all have a little Iris inside of us.

"One of my teachers said that acting is you, but more. It was just bringing a little bit more of what perhaps wasn't necessarily that nice about me and not judging that part of me. And to play it with truth and not feel bad about it," she says when asked who her inspirations for the role were.

And it seems that no matter how hard Mampho tries, she just can't seem to shake off Iris, even when she's playing a soft married woman on her upcoming film The Jakes are Missing.

"I had to be able to put her (Iris) away and I struggled in the beginning because there was remnants of her in a lot of things I would say or how I would say it," Mampho says. "Luckily I worked with a great director who would say 'okay she's coming out again. Let's pull her back in'," she adds.
